Bramcote Road SW15
The practice gained consent for a low profile, contemporary new build house in a conservation area on land annexed from the main house along Bramcote Road. Robust townscape studies were used to counter the myriad neighbourly objections and prove integration of the property into the grain of existing buildings. Trees were an important issue and we worked alongside our favourite arboriculturist to devise protection measures. The 2-storey property had a traditional hierarchy of living spaces to ground floor with bedrooms above and a full basement area with cinema room. At lower level daylighting provided by stepped lightwells.
