Malbrook Road SW15
In the West Putney Conservation at a focal point where two residential roads meet, consent gained to demolish a 1920’s house after submission of extensive heritage and contextual studies and replacement with two substantial, semi-detached houses. The case for change was reinforced at local consultation events prior to submission. The scheme drew reference from the Arts & Crafts houses of merit in the locality. The elevations and elemental detailing set up an asymmetrical rhythm that worked with the traditional materials to improve aspects into and over the site from the differing frontages. Efficient interior planning across the basement and three upper floor including roof space offered good living and entertaining spaces.
