The proposal was developed for pre-application review on behalf of our clients who purchased two adjoining sites at the gateway to Pontypridd.  It  introduces a dynamic mixed-use scheme with a range of town centre uses that will  make a positive contribution to the town’s long-awaited regeneration now underway on nearby sites by bringing back into active use  derelict land and by  increasing pedestrian links  and permeability.   It   has two street frontages; one facing  the mainline station and the other on to the High Street. It lies  close to  the River Taff  and will offer panoramic views from  upper storeys over the surrounding countryside.  At lower and upper ground floor level  a mix of  uses include a  theatre, retail, bar and restaurants  to offer active frontages at street level.  The upper levels are given over to  residential and office  accommodation and there is the  possibility of including a   rooftop restaurant facility.
