We worked as part of the client’s multi-disciplinary team to unlock the potential of this strategically placed site in an area of central London undergoing substantial renewal. In the absence of a site specific brief, townscape studies established the design parameters and were presented to the local authority for agreement at a series of meetings spanning a four year period. The ensuing 220 unit, residential scheme delivered 40% affordable/60% market housing in a series of linked 9-10 storey buildings configured to make the best use of the irregular site area. Basement level accommodation was given over to ancillary facilities, car parking, cycle storage, refuse, individual storage units and servicing. The proposals also took into account the development potential of adjoining land.
